Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a Site Safety Manager for an exciting opportunity in Las Vegas, NV. This role involves leading and promoting a strong safety culture across active construction projects. The Site Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure an injury-free workplace while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive safety leader with strong field presence, technical expertise, and the ability to influence employees, subcontractors, and management at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, manage, and monitor HSE standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure a safe and injury-free work environment.
  • Coach and mentor employees and management on safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and hazard recognition.
  • Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Site-Specific Safety Plans.
  • Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective measures to eliminate or control risks to health and safety.
  • Ensure adequate first aid, emergency response, and welfare facilities are available and properly maintained.
  • Conduct timely risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Assist with selection and implementation of safety equipment, including signage, PPE, and protective systems.
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies, clients, and third-party auditors; support audits and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement controls for exposure to hazardous substances and risks related to flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, radiation, and manual-handling hazards.
  • Perform routine and formal safety audits and inspections; prepare and distribute audit and incident reports.
  • Provide and coordinate safety training, including Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), Fall Protection, Hot Work Procedures, Excavation, Scaffolding, Hazard Communication, Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout), Forklift Operations, and Confined Space Entry.
  • Oversee subcontractor and vendor HSE planning, performance, and compliance.
  • Ensure unsafe acts and conditions are identified and corrected promptly.
  • Provide technical expertise during incident investigations and personally investigate serious incidents.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Project Managers and site leadership to drive continuous safety improvement.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective.
  • Develop procedures and preventive measures based on lessons learned and incident investigations.
  • Recommend corrective actions and disciplinary measures for violations of HSE policies.
  • Promote a strong safety culture at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and implement innovative safety initiatives to keep safety at the forefront of company culture.
  • Manage work-related injuries and coordinate care for injured employees.
  • Work closely with the Workers' Compensation claims administrator to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  • Administer and update the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), SOPs, and other HSE initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Construction Safety.
  • Strong knowledge of Title 8 and OSHA 1926 regulations.
  • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) - Required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Instructor qualification and/or EM 385 coursework preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in fall protection, excavation, and rigging.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Professional safety accreditation preferred.
  • Active membership and participation in HSE professional associations required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work on-site in Santa Barbara, CA.

Work Hours

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (hours may vary)

Salary

$104,000-$125,000
